Commercial and industrial solar installer services:
We carry out detailed site surveys, structural assessments, and energy yield modelling to design
optimised solar PV systems and battery storage that meet both performance goals and regulatory standards.
Our dedicated in-house team oversees every stage of the project, managing CDM responsibilities, DNO applications, Quality management and health and safety compliance to ensure smooth, risk-free delivery.
We offer sub-contractor quality management for EPCs and industrial sites which need an on-site quality manager.
All electrical, mechanical, and civil works are completed by our qualified engineers – ensuring precision installation, full testing, and seamless grid integration for reliable long-term operation.
Following commissioning, we provide comprehensive documentation and handover, performance verification, and optional O&M support – ensuring every system continues to perform at its best for years to come.
This is one of the key benefits of choosing Bailey Renewables for you install – we build with the future in mind, offering end-to-end services across the whole PV system lifespan.
How much do commercial solar panels cost in the UK?
The smallest system we install is 60kwp.
For a 60kwp commercial rooftop install we would charge on average £50,000.
Each quote is tailored to your specific install so use this as a broad ballpark figure. All sites, especially ground-mount sites vary dramatically so get in touch for a personalised quote.
How long does it take to install commercial solar panels?
For a 60kwp commercial rooftop install we would estimate about 2 weeks. Obviously weather can impact the timings as a slippery roof or 40mph winds are no friend to the commercial solar installer!
How long do commercial solar panels last?
Most of the panels we install on commercial solar installations have a 20 year warranty. With care, and regular maintenance you should see your solar panels last for 25+ years before replacing.
Solar PV systems may need replacing after 10 years for a more efficient system. We call this a repower, but you can usually re-use solar panels to cut down the cost of the repower.
Why should I consider solar panels for my business?
- Reduced Energy Costs
- Environmental Responsibility
- Government Incentives: like the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
- Selling back to the grid
- Energy Security
- Eco positive reputation for your business
Investing in commercial solar panels is a smart decision for UK businesses, offering significant benefits from cost savings to environmental responsibility. By adopting solar energy, your business can thrive while contributing to a sustainable future. Don’t miss the opportunity to enhance your business’s success and reduce your carbon footprint.
Can I Install Solar Panels on My Commercial Property?
Usually yes, installing solar panels on commercial buildings, barns, fields, or other available land is an excellent way to generate clean, renewable energy.
The best way to see if you’re able to install solar is by having a site survey. You can book one today with one of our specialists.
Do I Need Planning Permission for Commercial or industrial Solar Panels?
In most cases, commercial rooftop solar panel installations in the UK do not require planning permission, thanks to the UK government's "Permitted Development" right. However, specific criteria must be met for both rooftop and ground-mounted systems:
Rooftop Commercial Solar Panels:
- Solar panels should not protrude more than 200mm from the building's surface.
- Panels must not be installed above the highest part of the roof, excluding chimneys.
- The installation should not increase the building’s height by more than 1 meter.
- Panels should be parallel to the roof pitch and not exceed the roof's dimensions.
- The building should not be in a conservation area or be a listed building.
However... Ground-Mounted Commercial Solar Panels usually need planning permission in the UK, especially if they are larger like the ones we tend to install. You might avoid it for a single, small installation which meets the following criteria:
- The installation should not exceed 9 square meters or 3 meters in height.
- The panels should not be placed within 5 meters of the property boundary.
- Ground-mounted systems must not be installed on land that is designated as a conservation area or in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
It's advisable to consult with your local council to ensure your project complies with all relevant regulations. There is also the matter of the DNO applications to consider for all solar installations. These tend to be through a G99/G100 form. We submit these once you have agreed to the design and install.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How Much Revenue Can 1 Acre of Solar Panels Generate in the UK?
The revenue from 1 acre of solar panels in the UK depends on various factors, including location, panel efficiency, and local solar resources. On average, a well-designed solar farm can produce approximately 850,000 kWh of electricity per year. With government schemes like the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), this could result in significant income for the landowner. For an accurate estimate of potential earnings from a solar installation on your land, contact us today for a quote tailored to your specific location.
Do solar panels work on cloudy days?
Solar panels can still generate power on cloudy days, although their output is reduced. High-efficiency panels and battery storage can help offset these effects.
How solar impacts my property value?
Solar panel installations have been shown to increase property value by providing future cost savings on energy bills for the new owner.
Can I Claim Solar Panels as a Business Expense in the UK?
Yes, businesses in the UK can claim the cost of installing commercial solar panels as a legitimate business expense. By claiming capital allowances, you can offset the installation costs against your taxable profits, reducing your overall tax liability. Additionally, income generated from the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) or selling surplus energy may also be taxable, offering further financial benefits for your business.
